Apple finally made the move to larger displays with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but it looks like it hasn’t given up on smaller screens just yet.
A new report suggests that[tweet_dis]Apple might be creating another 4-inch iPhone model[/tweet_dis]in the second half of next year. They won’t be replacing the larger models though – rumours suggest it’ll come alongside the larger variants, providing a variety of options for everyone.
It’s thought that Apple’s Chinese supply chain is behind the rumours, as it prepares for the next big iPhone launch later on in 2015.
Will it be as good as the flagships?
That’s what we don’t know so far. Is this going to be another lower priced smartphone like the iPhone 5C, or will it simply be a smaller alternative to the flagship devices?
Three flagship phones in a range of sizes could certainly be something that appeals to a wider audience, and also a different move when you consider what other manufacturers on the market are currently providing. Quite often mini versions of flagships phones have their specs cut down too – although some of them have made our best smartphones for 2014 list.
What can we expect from the next flagship iPhones?
Whether it’s the iPhone 6S, iPhone 7 or Apple comes up with a totally new name for the device, there are already rumours flooding the tech world on what we can expect from it.
It’s thought that the iPhone 6 successor could come with more camera improvements than ever before, and those would be some welcome improvements. Despite some being made on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, arguably the cameras still aren’t competitive with other leading devices on the market like Samsung’s Galaxy S5, the HTC One M8 or the Nokia Lumia 1020.
We’ll have to wait a while to find out though – Apple’s next iPhone won’t be expected until close to October 2015.
